{"id":9271,"date":"2011-03-19T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2011-03-18T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webdali.latempesta.eu\/fundacio-dali\/noticia\/inauguracio-de-la-nova-exposicio-temporal-dali-by-halsman\/"},"modified":"2025-06-26T10:20:15","modified_gmt":"2025-06-26T08:20:15","slug":"inauguration-of-the-exhibition-dali-by-halsman","status":"publish","type":"noticia","link":"https:\/\/webdali.latempesta.eu\/en\/dali-foundation\/news\/inauguration-of-the-exhibition-dali-by-halsman\/","title":{"rendered":"Inauguration of the exhibition Dal\u00ed by Halsman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 19 march the Gala-Salvador Dal\u00ed Foundation inaugurated Dal\u00ed by Halsman, this year&#8217;s temporary exhibition at the Castell Gala Dal\u00ed in P\u00fabol.<\/p>\n<p>The opening ceremony was presented by Mr. Joan Pluma, General Director of Cultural Heritage of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Ramon Boixad\u00f3s, Chairman of the Fundaci\u00f3 Gala-Salvador Dal\u00ed, Antoni Pitxot, Director of the Dal\u00ed Theatre-Museum and Vice-Chairman of the Foundation, and Montse Aguer, Director of the Centre for Dalinian Studies. Philippe Halsman&#8217;s heirs, Irene Halsman and Steve Bello, also attended the opening.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dal\u00ed by Halsman.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2011 marks the seventieth anniversary of their encounter \u2014 the painter and the photographer met for the first time in 1941 in the United States \u2014 we felt this was the right time to organize the exhibition <em>Dal\u00ed by Halsman<\/em> in P\u00fabol Castle.<\/p>\n<p><em>Dal\u00ed by Halsman<\/em> presents a selection of eighty-eight photographs of Salvador Dal\u00ed taken by Philippe Halsman (plus a gouache by Dal\u00ed painted on a photograph), in all of which Dal\u00ed\u2019s involvement was both physical and conceptual.<\/p>\n<p>The pictures shown in this exhibition were kept by Dal\u00ed throughout his life. They are reminiscences of his collaboration over thirty-seven years, from 1941 to 1978, with another alchemist of the creative process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Publication, Montage and catalogue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The exhibition in the P\u00fabol castle-museum is curated by Montse Aguer, author of the introduction to the catalogue. Also collaborating with this edition are Irene Halsman, Oliver Rosenberg Halsman, Steve Bello, David G. Torre and Rosa Maria Maurell. The catalogue, sponsored by &#8220;la Caixa&#8221;, is published by Distribucions d&#8217;Art Surrealista and designed by Bis Dixit. The exhibition montage has been designed by Pep Canaleta, 3carme33.<\/p>\n<p>A selection of the principal references in books and exhibition catalogues has been published In the catalogue, fro projects of the period to current publications on the collaboration between the painter Salvador Dal\u00ed and the photographer Philippe Halsman.
